Windows Azure Active Directory Explained

I have heard a reasonable amount of murmurings about Windows Azure Active Directory (WAAD) but I didn’t really know what it was. If you have used Office 365 and setup DirSync and tied ADFS with 365, you are using WAAD already that is the AD component of 365 they have now just released it as a seperate product to leverage it outside of 365 if you want to.

Best way to think of it in my mind is:

Cloud ADFS = WAAD

So ADFS is on premise version of WAAD in many respects.
