When navigating to a website you are denied access with an SSL error, but don’t get the option to proceed

If you get this issue, then this is likely related to the patch applied to later operating systems and Internet explorer versions.  You may get this with older devices such as multi function printers etc. or at least that is my experience.  To get around this, try running the following command at an elevated command prompt to set it down to 512:

certutil -setreg chain\minRSAPubKeyBitLength 512

Although you should set it back to 1024 after you have finished to revert to the higher security level of blocking these old certificates.

Not sure if this applies to IE9, I don’t have a box to test it on but let me know either way please
