Comparing the Performance of Live Migration Methods

In Windows Server 2012 R2 there are 3 different types of Live Migration. TCP/IP, Compression and SMB. TCP/IP was the traditional method employed in previous versions, but the other 2 are new in this version of the server operating system.

These are a per host option you can choose in the Hyper-V settings dialogue.
